BDS Movement has placed Disney+ on its “Priority Boycott Target” list, citing the Captain America: Brave New World character Sabra/Ruth Bat-Seraph - an Israeli-military-linked Marvel character played by an actor who served in the IDF - as “glorifying” Israel’s “regime of genocide and apartheid” ²⁹³⁰. Marvel and Disney’s public response was to alter the character’s backstory, removing the explicit Mossad/IDF affiliation, following backlash, without dropping the character entirely ³¹³².
