Corporate Communications & Public Stance

Public position on Israel and Palestine

Allianz p.l.c., the group’s Irish insurance company, has published statements addressing allegations concerning Allianz and the Middle East conflict. In a letter published by The Irish Times on 7 August 2026, Allianz Ireland rejected allegations that the company was complicit in genocide and stated that decisions about sovereign participation in international financial markets belong to democratically accountable governments, international institutions and courts. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; audience: customers, campaigners and the general public; channel: irishtimes.com; observation: 7 August 2026; status: publicly documented corporate position.1

Allianz Ireland’s published response disputes the accuracy, methodology and conclusions of the July 2025 UN Special Rapporteur report concerning Allianz. The company maintains that its financial activities must comply with applicable sanctions, fiduciary duties and regulatory obligations. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; recipient: public audiences responding to the controversy; channel: irishtimes.com; observation: 7 August 2026; status: documented public communication.1

Collective corporate statement of October 2023

On 22 October 2023, Allianz was publicly identified among 106 German companies endorsing the collective newspaper statement “Nie wieder ist jetzt” (“Never again is now”), published as a full-page advertisement in Bild am Sonntag and Welt am Sonntag. Contemporary reporting by Stuttgarter Zeitung explicitly named Allianz among the signatories. The statement condemned Hamas’s 7 October 2023 attacks against Israel, acknowledged the suffering of civilians in both Israel and Gaza, opposed hatred and antisemitism, invoked Germany’s historical responsibility, and called for solidarity with Jewish citizens and colleagues in Germany. Acting entity: Allianz, identified as a corporate signatory; audience: German employees, Jewish communities and the wider public; original communication channels: Bild am Sonntag and Welt am Sonntag; independent reporting channel: stuttgarter-zeitung.de; publication date: 22 October 2023; status: confirmed historical collective corporate endorsement. The evidence establishes participation in the collective statement but does not establish endorsement of particular Israeli government policies or military operations.2

The original newspaper advertisement was published on 22 October 2023. The available reporting establishes publication on that date but does not determine the duration of its subsequent print or digital circulation or identify the individual Allianz executive who authorized participation.2

Comparative public posture

Allianz Ireland’s published position emphasizes compliance with applicable law and the responsibility of governments, international institutions and courts for determining restrictions on sovereign financial activity. Separately, Allianz Ireland stated in September 2026 that it had supported the Irish Red Cross in providing humanitarian assistance to civilians affected by the Middle East conflict. No independently verified quantified financial commitment concerning Palestinian civilian assistance was identified in these statements. No independently verified conclusion about the absence of assistance across the entire Allianz group follows from these statements alone.1, 3

Allianz Ireland’s partnership with Women’s Aid included a 2025 awareness campaign addressing domestic violence. Women’s Aid documented the Allianz and Women’s Aid Ally Action List and the Dead Flower Shop initiative launched on Valentine’s Day 2025. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; beneficiary: Women’s Aid and its public-awareness audience; channel: womensaid.ie; observation: 2025; status: documented during 2025, with subsequent status unconfirmed.4

Market framing

Allianz Ireland describes its activity principally in terms of insurance products, customers, investment responsibilities and Irish community partnerships. Its corporate response expressly denies underwriting business in Israel or elsewhere in the Middle East. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; channels: irishtimes.com, anglocelt.ie and its public corporate profile; observed during 2026; status: publicly documented position.1, 5, 3

Allianz Ireland’s humanitarian-support statement appeared in a corporate response supplied to The Anglo-Celt and published on 24 September 2026. The spokesperson presented assistance to the Irish Red Cross alongside Allianz’s rejection of allegations concerning Israeli sovereign bonds, military financing and insurance relationships with Elbit Systems. The stated humanitarian purpose was to assist civilians suffering from the Middle East conflict and support their freedom from violence, displacement and fear. This establishes the corporate communications channel and stated rationale, but the statement does not identify a donation amount, transfer mechanism, funded programme or individual recipients of Allianz-funded assistance.3

As of 27 October 2026 - no public evidence identified: the accessible 24 September 2026 corporate response and Irish Red Cross publications examined did not establish when Allianz’s claimed support began, whether it was a single contribution or recurring arrangement, its duration, implementation schedule, completion date or continuing status. Allianz used the past-tense formulation that it had supported the Irish Red Cross, establishing that the company publicly represented assistance as having occurred by 24 September 2026. The statement did not separately distinguish a promised contribution from funds received, services delivered or independently verified expenditure. The available evidence does not establish whether the arrangement remains active.3, 6, 7, 8

Allianz Trade’s global country-selection page and business-enquiries contact page both list Israel under the Middle East and direct visitors selecting Israel to ICIC, the Israeli Credit Insurance Company, at icic.co.il. ICIC independently identifies Allianz Trade as one of its two equal shareholders, alongside Harel Insurance Investments and Finances Ltd. The country listing therefore corresponds to an established commercial and ownership relationship with a locally operating Israeli credit insurer. The Allianz Trade pages present Israel as an ordinary geographic market and contact destination, without accompanying commentary about territorial boundaries, occupation or settlements. The original Allianz Trade pages were directly inspected but are excluded from citations under the source restrictions; the admissible ICIC and industry-association pages corroborate the provider’s identity and relationship.9, 10

Allianz Partners, a separate Allianz group business, published customer communications expressly addressing the Israel–Hamas conflict. Its notices, updated 14 October 2024, discuss violence beginning on 7 October 2023, travel disruption, insurance exclusions relating to acts of war, and assistance for affected travellers. A subsequent notice updated 3 March 2026 explicitly describes Israeli and American military strikes against Iran and the resulting regional escalation. These are documented references to armed conflict in Allianz group communications. The notices frame the events principally through customer safety, travel arrangements and insurance coverage, without addressing the legal status of Israeli settlements or the occupation of Palestinian territory.11

2023–2026 - no public evidence identified: the Allianz Trade country-selection and business-enquiry pages, ICIC’s corporate profile, the ICISA membership description and Allianz Partners’ conflict-related customer notices were examined for statements connecting Allianz Trade’s treatment of Israel as a commercial market with occupation, settlements, annexation or disputed territorial boundaries. The accessible admissible material did not establish such a qualification or an explicit Allianz Trade political endorsement of settlement policy. This finding is limited to the communications examined and does not establish that no such statement exists elsewhere within the Allianz group.9, 10, 11

As of 28 October 2026 - no admissible public evidence identified: searches for Allianz Trade’s Israel country-risk assessment, country-selection pages, credit-insurance availability and business-enquiry routing did not recover a permitted live source reproducing the relevant Allianz Trade statements. Search results identified an Allianz Trade September 2025 country-risk table assigning Israel a medium-term rating of B and short-term risk level 1 (Low), but the source is hosted on an explicitly excluded domain. The reported Israel-to-ICIC referral on Allianz Trade’s country-selection and enquiry pages likewise remains unsupported by an admissible direct capture. The accessible ICIC and ICISA publications independently establish the commercial relationship, but neither reproduces the specific Allianz Trade website routing or establishes an unconditional Allianz Trade insurance-cover commitment for Israeli risks. Those narrower claims remain unverified under the source restrictions.9, 10

ICIC’s accessible product documentation establishes that credit insurance is commercially offered within Israel through the Allianz Trade–Harel jointly owned company. Its domestic credit-insurance page expressly describes protection for credit sales to business customers in Israel against insolvency and economic difficulties. Its short-term transactions page offers protection for projects involving Israeli or overseas business customers, identifies political-risk coverage for international transactions, and expressly identifies Allianz Trade’s credit-risk information as an input available to ICIC. This documents operational insurance services and information sharing through the Israeli joint venture. It does not establish that Allianz Trade itself issues every policy, that every Israeli counterparty is eligible for cover, or that a particular Israeli settlement or government institution is insured.9, 12, 13

Operations in Occupied or Contested Territories

Israel-related financial activity

The December 2025 GAA Ethics and Integrity Commission report records the findings of UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese’s A/HRC/59/23 concerning Allianz SE and its asset-management subsidiary PIMCO. According to the report, PIMCO participated in purchases of Israeli government debt, while Allianz was also identified in relation to Israeli securities and underwriting activities. Acting entities identified in the UN findings: Allianz SE and PIMCO; beneficiary or counterparty: Israeli sovereign-debt issuer and relevant securities issuers; reporting channel: gaa.ie, reproducing the UN report’s findings; underlying activity examined: principally 2023–2025; precise inception and cessation dates: not established.14

The GAA commission did not treat the sovereign-bond allegations as evidence that Allianz p.l.c. itself purchased Israeli government debt. Instead, it distinguished the Irish company from the relevant affiliated companies. Acting entity: GAA Ethics and Integrity Commission; subject: Allianz p.l.c. and its corporate affiliates; channel: gaa.ie; report dated December 2025; status: completed institutional review.14, 15

Elbit Systems UK

During October 2024, Palestine Action targeted Allianz offices in the United Kingdom, alleging that Allianz’s insurance and investment relationships supported Elbit Systems, the Israeli defence contractor. Contemporary insurance-industry reporting identified the campaign’s demands and documented the protests. Acting entity: Palestine Action; target: Allianz UK operations; underlying commercial beneficiary alleged: Elbit Systems UK; channel: insurancebusinessmag.com; earliest documented campaign observation: October 2024; subsequent activity continued during 2025.16

On 10 March 2025, protesters occupied part of Allianz Commercial’s London premises on Gracechurch Street and displayed demands that Allianz end its relationship with Elbit Systems. Acting entity: Palestine Action; target: Allianz Commercial; channel: standard.co.uk; observation: 10 March 2025; status: completed protest event.17

Reporting published on 8 April 2026 states that Allianz ended its insurance contract with Elbit Systems UK during 2025. The reporting does not establish the exact original inception date or complete policy schedule. Acting entity: Allianz insurance operation, with the exact underwriting legal entity unresolved in that report; former beneficiary: Elbit Systems UK; channel: theguardian.com; relationship: reported ended during 2025.18

A 23 December 2025 report likewise stated that Allianz had stopped insuring Elbit Systems UK and that Aviva had ended a separate insurance relationship with UAV Engines. The reporting identifies these as distinct commercial relationships involving different insurers. Acting entity for the Allianz relationship: Allianz insurance operation; beneficiary: Elbit Systems UK; channel: theguardian.com; observation: December 2025; status: reported terminated.19

Territorial presence

No public evidence identified establishing that Allianz SE, Allianz p.l.c. or the identified UK insurance operation maintained a branch, insured a specifically identified settlement property, or provided a directly identified service at a named Israeli settlement as of 27 October 2026.

International scrutiny

The 2025 UN Special Rapporteur report was explicitly cited in the GAA’s subsequent institutional review of Allianz sponsorship. The GAA commission reproduced allegations concerning Allianz’s investment and underwriting relationships but reached a separate conclusion concerning the contractual position of Allianz p.l.c. Acting entities: UN Special Rapporteur and GAA Ethics and Integrity Commission; subject: Allianz companies; reporting channel: gaa.ie; observations: June–December 2025; status: UN allegations publicly documented and GAA review completed.14

Boycott and divestment campaigns

Palestine Action’s campaign against Allianz produced protests at ten UK offices in October 2024, including activity at the insurer’s Guildford headquarters. The campaign specifically demanded severance of relationships with Elbit Systems. Acting entity: Palestine Action; target: Allianz UK operations; channel: insurancebusinessmag.com; observation: October 2024; status: subsequent campaign activity documented in 2025.16

Further protests occurred in Bristol on 28 August 2025, where demonstrators demanded that Allianz stop investing in and insuring Elbit Systems. The campaign included coordinated demonstrations in several British cities. Acting entities: local pro-Palestinian campaign groups; target: Allianz insurance operations; channel: bristol247.com; observation: 28 August 2025; status: completed demonstration, with later campaign status not established.20

The Boycott Bloody Insurance campaign published Ensuring Genocide, examining insurers’ investment and underwriting relationships with defence companies supplying Israel. Its findings attributed approximately USD 452 million of defence-company investments across fifteen companies to Allianz at a February 2025 reference point and identified an Allianz insurance relationship with Elbit Systems. These figures are the campaign’s findings; underlying holdings were not independently reconstructed for this audit. Acting entity: campaign researchers; subject: Allianz and other insurers; channel: boycottbloodyinsurance.org; observations: 2024–2025; current investment status: unverified.21

In September 2025, a campaign among Gaelic Games participants called for the GAA to terminate its Allianz sponsorship. Reporting identified approximately 800 current and former players supporting the request. Acting entities: participating athletes and campaign organizers; target: GAA sponsorship relationship with Allianz p.l.c.; channel: irishtimes.com; observation: August–September 2025; status: campaign demand subsequently considered by the GAA.22

The GAA decided on 19 December 2025 to maintain its partnership with Allianz following its Ethics and Integrity Commission review. Acting entity: Gaelic Athletic Association; beneficiary and contractual counterparty: Allianz p.l.c.; channel: gaa.ie; observation: December 2025; status: sponsorship retained.15

Internal Governance, Content & Retail Policies

Employee relations

No public evidence identified establishing that Allianz disciplined, dismissed or otherwise sanctioned an employee specifically for lawful pro-Palestinian speech, Palestinian symbols or Palestine-related union activity.

Protest litigation

On 8 April 2026, reporting described civil proceedings brought by Allianz against six individuals accused of participating in Palestine Action demonstrations at Allianz premises during October 2024 and March 2025. The insurer reportedly sought approximately GBP 300,000 in damages. The defendants disputed the proceedings, and the related criminal allegations had not been resolved in the report. Acting entity: Allianz insurance operation; defendants: six individuals; channel: theguardian.com; observations: events in 2024–2025 and reported proceedings in April 2026; status at the research date: final disposition not established.18

The reported proceedings concern alleged property damage and protest activity. The available reporting does not establish that the defendants were Allianz employees or that the proceedings constituted employee disciplinary action. Acting entity: Allianz insurance operation; channel: theguardian.com; observation: April 2026; subsequent litigation status: unverified.18

Content moderation and editorial policy

No public evidence identified of Allianz operating a consumer social-media moderation platform that suppressed Palestinian content, or of a regulatory finding against Allianz for Palestine-related algorithmic moderation.

Retail and supply-chain labelling

No public evidence identified concerning an Allianz policy for labelling settlement-origin consumer goods, reclassifying Palestinian products, or restricting Palestine-related retail merchandise.

Charitable matching and reservist policies

No public evidence identified establishing that Allianz matched employee donations to the IDF, FIDF or Israeli settlement organizations.

No public evidence identified of an Allianz-controlled Israeli business providing a documented special salary subsidy to Israeli military reservists.

Brand Heritage & State Partnerships

Corporate identity

Allianz Ireland presents itself as an insurance company operating in Ireland since 1902. Its public corporate profile describes consumer insurance, risk protection and commercial insurance services. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; intended audience: Irish insurance customers; channels: Allianz Ireland corporate profile and irishtimes.com; historical reference: 1902 [pre-2020]; commercial identity documented during 2026.5, 23

No public evidence identified of Allianz marketing itself primarily through Israeli military heritage, Israeli security-service origins or an explicit Israeli state-security mission.

Irish sporting partnerships

Allianz p.l.c. sponsors the GAA’s National Football and Hurling Leagues and the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Allianz Ireland’s corporate partnership information states that league sponsorship was extended in 2025 through 2030. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; beneficiary: Gaelic Athletic Association; channel: archived allianz.ie corporate partnership page; historical partnership beginning in the 1990s [pre-2020]; renewed in 2025; status: continuing under announced agreements.24

The December 2025 GAA commission report identifies Allianz p.l.c., company number 143108, as the contractual sponsor. It states that the leagues agreement expires in 2030 and the football championship agreement in 2028. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; recipient: GAA; reporting channel: gaa.ie; latest contractual observation: December 2025; status: continuing, with no subsequently verified cancellation.14

In February 2023, Allianz Ireland expanded its relationship with Gaelic Games by becoming a sponsor of the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship and by supporting the Camogie Association. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; beneficiaries: GAA and Camogie Association; channels: archived allianz.ie and gaa.ie; initial observation: February 2023; status: partnerships subsequently documented during 2025.24, 25

Allianz Ireland’s published partnership information identifies the Olympic Federation of Ireland and Paralympics Ireland as institutional partners. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; beneficiaries: named Irish sporting organizations; channel: careers.allianz.com; observation: publicly documented during October 2026; status: described as continuing partnerships.26

International sporting partnerships

Allianz’s worldwide Olympic and Paralympic partnership began in 2021, following earlier Paralympic collaboration dating to 2006. Acting entity: Allianz group sporting-sponsorship business; beneficiaries: Olympic and Paralympic movements; channel: careers.allianz.com; original Paralympic relationship [pre-2020]; worldwide partnership observed from 2021; status: described as ongoing.26

Community donation mechanism

No public evidence identified from a replacement source independently confirming the precise contractual terms of Allianz p.l.c.’s 2024 GAA affinity programme, including the reported EUR 10 donation per eligible policy to a selected GAA club. The GAA partnership and Allianz’s sponsorship of Gaelic Games are independently documented, but those sources do not establish the specific 2024 affinity programme’s donation mechanism.27

Israeli state institutions

No public evidence identified of Allianz sponsoring a named Israeli government public-relations campaign, settlement cultural event, or official Israeli military ceremony.

No public evidence identified of an Allianz executive receiving an Israeli government honour specifically linked to support for military or settlement policy.

Lobbying, Advocacy, Financing & Logistics

Israeli sovereign bonds

The December 2025 GAA commission report reproduces the UN Special Rapporteur’s identification of PIMCO, an Allianz asset-management subsidiary, as an investor in Israeli government bonds. The report does not establish that the Irish insurer Allianz p.l.c. purchased those bonds. Acting entity: PIMCO, as identified in the UN investigation; beneficiary: State of Israel as sovereign issuer; channel reporting the finding: gaa.ie; underlying period examined: 2023–2025; exact holdings and continuation through October 2026: not independently established.14

Allianz Ireland publicly states that Allianz p.l.c. does not hold Israeli government bonds and that Irish customer premiums are not invested in such bonds. This is a statement concerning the Irish legal entity and its premiums, rather than a denial that every Allianz-controlled asset manager has held Israeli securities. Acting entity: Allianz p.l.c.; audience: Irish customers, campaigners and public stakeholders; channel: anglocelt.ie, reproducing Allianz Ireland’s corporate response; observation: 24 September 2026; status: publicly documented position.3

Insurance financing and risk transfer

The 2025 Boycott Bloody Insurance investigation identified Allianz among insurers providing employers’ liability coverage to defence-sector companies connected to Israel. The campaign associated Allianz with Elbit Systems and with investments in fifteen defence companies. Acting entities: Allianz insurance and investment businesses, as described by campaign researchers; alleged beneficiaries: Elbit Systems and other defence suppliers; channel: boycottbloodyinsurance.org; observation: 2024–2025; status of the Elbit insurance relationship subsequently reported as ended.21, 18

A November 2024 report reproduced Palestine Action’s demand that Allianz not renew insurance for Elbit Systems UK and divest its Elbit investments. The report referred to a November 2024 employers’ liability policy renewal date, although the original policy documentation was not independently recovered. Acting entity making the demand: Palestine Action; target: Allianz insurance operation; intended beneficiary of compliance: the campaign’s divestment objective; channel: thecanary.co; observation: November 2024; policy status at that time: disputed publicly, with subsequent termination reported during 2025.28

Corporate response to advocacy

Allianz responded publicly to protests involving its offices and personnel during 2024–2025. Reporting recorded its position that lawful expression was respected but conduct threatening staff and property would be opposed. Acting entity: Allianz UK insurance operation; audience: protesters, employees and the public; channel: insurancebusinessmag.com; observation: October 2024; related litigation subsequently reported in April 2026.16, 18

GAA financing and contractual continuity

The GAA Ethics and Integrity Commission examined whether the association should discontinue sponsorship by Allianz p.l.c. Its December 2025 report identified contractual and legal implications of unilateral termination and recommended retaining the partnership. Acting entities: Allianz p.l.c. and the GAA; beneficiary of sponsorship: GAA competitions; channel: gaa.ie; observation: December 2025; agreements identified as continuing to 2028 and 2030.14, 15

Independent reporting confirmed that the sponsorship relationship was retained despite organized calls for termination. Acting entities: GAA and Allianz p.l.c.; channel: bbc.co.uk; observation: 19 December 2025; status: continued partnership.29

Political lobbying and campaign contributions

No public evidence identified establishing a specific Allianz SE or PIMCO lobbying expenditure directed toward anti-BDS legislation, Israeli settlement policy or military assistance to Israel.

No public evidence identified of a named Allianz corporate PAC donation specifically earmarked for Israeli settlement advocacy.

Military and settlement donations

No public evidence identified of a verifiable Allianz SE, Allianz p.l.c. or named Allianz executive donation directly to the IDF, FIDF, JNF/KKL, Regavim, Im Tirtzu or a named settlement organization.

The reported purchase of Israeli government securities and the former commercial insurance relationship with Elbit Systems UK are documented separately from charitable donations to military organizations.14, 18

Crisis asset mobilization

No public evidence identified of Allianz providing free logistics, vehicles, cloud services, military equipment, transport or operational infrastructure directly to the IDF during the Gaza conflict.

The documented insurance and sovereign-debt relationships represent financial and insurance services whose mechanisms differ from direct physical or operational assistance.14, 21

2023–2026 - no public evidence identified: searches combining Allianz Ireland, Allianz p.l.c., Irish Red Cross, Gaza, Palestine, Middle East, donations, funding and humanitarian assistance did not identify a publicly accessible Irish Red Cross acknowledgement of a conflict-specific Allianz contribution, a quantified payment, an in-kind transfer, a corporate matching arrangement or a named operational project financed by Allianz. The 24 September 2026 corporate statement identifies Allianz Ireland as the supporting company and the Irish Red Cross as the recipient organisation, but does not specify the form or value of support. The Irish Red Cross’s independently published humanitarian reports establish activities serving Palestinian civilians without identifying Allianz as their funder. The existence, amount and delivery of any specific Allianz contribution therefore remain independently unverified.3, 6, 7, 8

The Irish Red Cross documented substantial downstream humanitarian assistance for Palestinians independently of Allianz’s statement. Its June 2025 reporting described support for the Palestine Red Crescent Society, including emergency medical care, ambulance services, community health clinics, hot meals, water, food and essential supplies. It also described assistance for seriously ill Palestinian children evacuated to Ireland and their accompanying families, including accommodation and Arabic-speaking caseworkers. These activities establish relevant categories of assistance delivered through the recipient organisation and wider Red Cross network, but the publication provides no evidence attributing any particular service, expenditure or beneficiary outcome to Allianz p.l.c.’s claimed support.6

On 8 May 2026, the Irish Red Cross reported that it had contributed €200,000 during 2025 to the Red Cross field hospital in Rafah. The hospital was supported by 16 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, including Ireland, and underwent refurbishment involving the import of essential medical equipment and supplies. The Irish Red Cross explicitly attributed its contribution to the generosity of the Irish public. This establishes a quantified Irish Red Cross humanitarian expenditure and a documented operational beneficiary, but does not establish that Allianz provided any identifiable portion of the €200,000 or financed the refurbishment.7

Primary corporate mission

Published corporate materials present insurance, risk protection, customer services and investment responsibilities as Allianz’s commercial functions. They do not describe advancing Israeli state geopolitical objectives as its corporate purpose. Acting entities: Allianz p.l.c. and Allianz Group; channels: Allianz Ireland corporate profile and archived Allianz Group corporate profile; observation: October 2026; status: current published business description.5, 30

No public evidence identified establishing that Allianz SE was founded under an Israeli state-security mandate or that an Israeli public institution holds a controlling golden share.

Ownership and controlling shareholders

No independently verified shareholder register establishing every Allianz SE holder of at least 10% of outstanding equity was recovered from an admissible source.

No public evidence identified establishing that a named Israeli government institution exercises a controlling equity position or formal veto right over Allianz SE.

Supervisory Board governance and succession

Michael Diekmann succeeded Helmut Perlet as Chairman of Allianz SE’s Supervisory Board in May 2017. Contemporary reporting dated 5 May 2017 stated that Diekmann would join the Supervisory Board on 7 May 2017 following his election as Chairman. Acting entity: Allianz SE; office-holder: Michael Diekmann; governance channel: Supervisory Board appointment; reporting channel: intelligentinsurer.com; first observation: May 2017 [pre-2020]; status: chairmanship ended on 7 May 2026.31, 32

In May 2026, Allianz SE prepared for Diekmann’s retirement and the appointment of former Munich Re Chief Financial Officer Dr. Jörg Schneider as his successor. Handelsblatt reported on 5 May 2026 that Diekmann’s tenure would conclude with the 7 May 2026 Annual General Meeting and that Schneider was the designated successor. Acting entity: Allianz SE; affected office-holders: Michael Diekmann and Dr. Jörg Schneider; audience: shareholders and institutional investors; governance channel: Supervisory Board succession; reporting channel: handelsblatt.com; observation: 5–7 May 2026; status: completed succession.32

MarketScreener’s published position chronology records 7 May 2026 as the commencement of Jörg Schneider’s chairmanship of Allianz SE. This independently accessible chronology agrees with the contemporary reporting of the succession arrangements and the date of Allianz’s Annual General Meeting. Acting entity: Allianz SE; appointed principal: Dr. Jörg Schneider; channel: de.marketscreener.com; effective date: 7 May 2026; status: recorded as continuing in the chronology consulted on 27 October 2026.33, 32

Schneider had served on Allianz SE’s Supervisory Board before assuming its chairmanship, and contemporary May 2026 reporting identified him as the company’s designated new Chairman. Acting entity: Allianz SE; office-holder: Dr. Jörg Schneider; governance channel: Supervisory Board; reporting channels: handelsblatt.com and versicherungsbote.de; observation: May 2026; status: appointment subsequently reflected in the published position chronology.32, 33, 34

ICIC is an established Israeli credit insurer jointly owned in equal shares by Allianz Trade, operating through the Euler Hermes business, and Israel’s Harel Insurance Investments and Finances Ltd. ICIC’s public corporate description states that it provides domestic and international trade credit insurance, financing-related solutions and guarantees, and serves approximately 500 policyholders, including major Israeli companies. The International Credit Insurance & Surety Association independently identifies Euler Hermes SA and Harel as 50% shareholders and documents ICIC’s use of Euler Hermes systems and international connections. This establishes an operationally integrated Israeli insurance joint venture, rather than merely an independent company receiving customer referrals.9, 10

The Allianz–ICIC ownership relationship predates the Allianz Trade branding. Contemporary reporting published on 11 March 2007 documented Euler Hermes’ proposed acquisition of one-third of ICIC, while an insurance-industry report published on 29 April 2013 documented its proposed increase from the original 33% acquired in 2007 to 50%. ICISA’s membership description, originally published in December 2018 and subsequently updated, confirms the resulting equal ownership structure. The evidence therefore supports an Israeli commercial relationship originating in 2007, with equal ownership documented from 2013 onward. It does not establish that the present Allianz Trade country-selection or contact-page format has remained continuously unchanged since those dates; the precise first publication date of the Israel-to-ICIC website link remains unverified.10, 35, 36

Allianz p.l.c. - Irish insurance company. Searched Israeli bonds, Elbit Systems, regional underwriting, sponsorship and public advocacy. The company denies direct Israeli bond holdings and Elbit relationships; its GAA sponsorship is documented through 2028–2030.14, 3

Allianz UK insurance operations - searched Elbit insurance, protest response, litigation and regional advocacy. The Elbit insurance relationship was reported as having ended in 2025, and related protest litigation was reported during 2026.18

Allianz Commercial - searched Elbit Systems, political protests and underwriting. Its London office was the subject of a March 2025 protest concerning Allianz’s alleged Elbit relationship; the event does not by itself establish which Allianz legal entity underwrote the insurance.17

Allianz Trade - searched Israel-related advocacy, branch activity, Elbit relationships and settlement connections. No public evidence identified establishing a specific qualifying Israel-Palestine political act attributable to Allianz Trade.

Allianz Global Investors - searched Israeli investments, defence-sector exclusions, anti-BDS activity and political philanthropy. No public evidence identified establishing a specific qualifying political advocacy act attributable to the entity.

Individual philanthropy and political advocacy

No public evidence identified establishing that Oliver Bäte, Jörg Schneider, Michael Diekmann, Andreas Wimmer or Günther Thallinger personally financed the IDF, FIDF, JNF/KKL, Israeli settlement organizations or named anti-BDS lobbying organizations.

No public evidence identified establishing that the named executives personally endorsed Israeli settlement expansion or called for the suppression of Palestinian political advocacy.

No public evidence identified establishing that a named Allianz SE executive or Supervisory Board Chairman held a leadership position in AIPAC, CFI, FIDF, Regavim or Im Tirtzu during the period examined.

Shareholders and additional controlling parties

No individual shareholder holding at least 10% of Allianz SE equity was independently verified from the admissible sources examined.

Chronology after international legal developments

The Allianz protest campaign continued after the ICJ advisory opinion of 19 July 2024, with documented activities in October 2024 and March 2025. Acting entity: Palestine Action; target: Allianz operations; channels: insurancebusinessmag.com and standard.co.uk; status: individual demonstrations completed.16, 17

The GAA sponsorship controversy and institutional review occurred during 2025, after the November 2024 ICC arrest-warrant decisions. Acting entities: campaigning GAA members, GAA Ethics and Integrity Commission and Allianz p.l.c.; channels: gaa.ie and irishtimes.com; status: review completed and sponsorship retained in December 2025.14, 15, 22

The reported termination of Allianz’s Elbit Systems UK insurance relationship during 2025 occurred after both international legal developments. The available report does not establish that those developments caused the termination. Acting entity: Allianz insurance operation; beneficiary of former relationship: Elbit Systems UK; channel: theguardian.com; status: reported ended.18

Allianz SE’s Supervisory Board chairmanship changed on 7 May 2026, after both international legal developments. The verified evidence establishes the corporate-governance succession but does not attribute any Israel-Palestine policy position or political act to Schneider or Diekmann in connection with that appointment. Acting entity: Allianz SE; affected principals: Michael Diekmann and Jörg Schneider; reporting channels: handelsblatt.com and de.marketscreener.com; observation: May 2026; status: completed succession.32, 33

Independent contemporary reporting supports the historical chairmanship attributed to Michael Diekmann. Intelligent Insurer reported on 5 May 2017 that Allianz had elected Diekmann to replace Helmut Perlet and that Diekmann would join the Supervisory Board on 7 May 2017. More decisively, Handelsblatt reported on 7 May 2017 that Diekmann had assumed the Supervisory Board chairmanship that day, replacing Perlet following the mandatory two-year interval after leaving Allianz’s Management Board. Handelsblatt therefore provides the strongest accessible contemporary confirmation of the actual commencement of his chairmanship, while Intelligent Insurer independently corroborates the succession arrangements. Versicherungsbote subsequently reported on 6 May 2026 that Diekmann would relinquish the chairmanship at the following day’s Annual General Meeting, with Jörg Schneider designated as successor. These sources support the governance chronology previously associated with an unrelated Insurance Business article. They do not establish any personal Israel-Palestine political position or donation by Diekmann.37, 31, 34
