Direct Defence Contracting & Procurement

Rheinmetall AG is the parent and management holding company of the Rheinmetall Group, which reported 228 consolidated companies as of 31 March 2026 1. Its published directory identifies defence-operating entities including Rheinmetall Landsysteme GmbH, Rheinmetall Waffe Munition GmbH, Rheinmetall Electronics GmbH, American Rheinmetall Defense, Inc., Rheinmetall Air Defence AG, Rheinmetall Canada Inc., Rheinmetall Expal Munitions S.A.U., Rheinmetall Denel Munition (Pty) Ltd., and Rheinmetall Italia S.p.A. 2.

Rheinmetall and Elbit Systems stated that they signed a 2022 cooperation agreement to develop, manufacture, and market an automated European 155mm wheeled self-propelled howitzer 3, 4. The companies demonstrated the system at Shivta firing range in southern Israel in March 2023 before delegations from the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, and Hungary 3, 4. Munitions, Weapons Systems & Strategic Platforms

An annex to Nicaragua’s 2024 International Court of Justice application against Germany preserves a January 2024 Der Spiegel report that Israel requested German authorization for approximately 10,000 rounds of Rheinmetall-manufactured 120mm precision tank ammunition in November 2023 7. The annex records contemporaneous reporting and does not itself confirm a Rheinmetall-to-Israel delivery 7.
