ASICS Corporation describes its principal business as the manufacture and sale of sports goods. Its current profile names Yasuhito Hirota as Chairman/CEO and Mitsuyuki Tominaga as President/COO, and reports 10 Japanese and 53 overseas consolidated subsidiaries/affiliates; the current group-location directory does not identify an Israeli subsidiary.1, 2, 3 The 30 June 2026 principal-shareholder table shows The Master Trust Bank of Japan trust account at 16.13% and does not show an individual shareholder at or above 10%, so the controlling-principal screen below focuses on disclosed directors and executives rather than treating that trust account as an individual controlling principal.4
In Israel, Original’s currently describes itself as the official importer of ASICS Israel. Original’s identifies Avi Avidor, Yossi Irani and Roni Irani as founders of its own retail network, while ASICS’s group directory does not list an Israeli controlled entity; the public records therefore support treating Original’s as a third-party importer/retailer rather than a disclosed ASICS subsidiary.2, 5, 6 Its current store list identifies three ASICS-branded stores - one in Haifa and two in Tel Aviv - and an ASICS outlet in Netanya.7
Direct Defence Contracting & Procurement
Israeli Ministry of Defense / IDF procurement. [pre-2020] On 6 January 2015, the Israeli Ministry of Defense Procurement Administration announced a prospective tender for professional running shoes for compulsory-service IDF combat soldiers and listed ASICS among seven selected footwear brands.8 The same notice states that the bidder was to be a retail chain carrying at least four listed brands and that the winning chain would sell shoes to soldiers against a special military voucher.8 This establishes ASICS-brand eligibility within the tender design; it does not establish that ASICS Corporation bid, won an award, delivered shoes, received payment, or held a direct manufacturer contract, and the notice gives no ASICS-specific quantity, model or value.8
[pre-2020] A June 2018 MOD supplier call described a broader “Points and Stars” procurement system covering sports equipment, sports clothing, sports footwear and standard shoes, without naming ASICS.9 In January 2020 (older than five years), MOD published another “Points and Stars” notice for sports footwear and other personal equipment for career personnel, recruits and compulsory-service soldiers; that notice also does not name ASICS.10 no public evidence identified in the screened MOD material confirms ASICS-specific military procurement after the 2015 notice, including after 19 July 2024 or November 2024.8, 9, 10
Other security bodies, defence directories and announcements. No public evidence identified in the screened corporate, MOD and UN material of an ASICS, Onitsuka Tiger or ASICS Trading contract or MOU with the Israel Prison Service, Israel Border Police, SIBAT, or an Israeli defence prime.1, 2, 8, 11, 12 no public evidence identified of a target-specific Israeli defence-export-directory listing or official announcement of joint defence cooperation.1, 2, 11, 12
Dual-Use Products & Tactical Variants
No public evidence identified of a purpose-built mil-spec, tactical or defence-grade ASICS footwear/apparel line marketed or confirmed as sold to the IDF, IMOD or another Israeli security body.1, 8 The product-specific military-facing record found is the [pre-2020] 2015 MOD tender for professional running shoes, which treats ASICS alongside ordinary commercial running-shoe brands and does not specify a military-modified ASICS model.8
A separate technology relationship exists at investee level. On 14 May 2020 (older than five years), ASICS announced that ASICS Ventures had invested in Jerusalem-based Seevix Material Sciences and that Seevix and the ASICS Institute of Sport Science would jointly develop sporting goods using Seevix’s SVX synthetic-spidersilk material; the announcement did not disclose an investment amount or ownership percentage.13 Seevix currently describes SVX as a high-performance spidersilk-inspired material.14
Later sources show potential dual-use applications at Seevix, not a verified ASICS military programme. A February 2022 Technion webinar abstract by Seevix said its scale-up targeted high-performance specialty-material markets including sports, automotive, aerospace and defence.15 no public evidence identified in those sources of an IDF/IMOD end user, a named Israeli defence-prime customer, or ASICS direction or funding of a defence-specific Seevix programme.13, 15
Seevix’s current leadership page lists retired Vice Admiral Yedidia Yaari as a strategic adviser and describes him as a former Israel Navy commander and former Rafael president/CEO who led Rafael during development of Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Trophy.16 Yaari is not listed among ASICS’s current directors or executive officers.3, 16 ASICS Ventures’ current portfolio page says it has invested in more than 20 startups in 10 countries as of June 2025, but Seevix is not displayed in that current portfolio; current ASICS equity ownership, any exit and present control rights therefore remain unconfirmed.17, 13
End-user certification and export licensing. No public evidence identified of an ASICS or ASICS Ventures export-licence application, military end-user certificate or Israel-specific defence export-control review.18, 13 ASICS’s Global Code of Conduct states generally that the group follows applicable export controls, sanctions, import/export restrictions and government-contracting rules, but it discloses no Israel-specific military licence or contract.18
Heavy Machinery, Construction & Infrastructure
ASICS’s disclosed principal business is sports goods, and its listed group companies are not presented as heavy-machinery or military-construction businesses.1, 2 no public evidence identified of ASICS, Onitsuka Tiger, ASICS Trading or another disclosed controlled ASICS entity supplying construction machinery, demolition equipment or engineering services for Israeli settlements, the separation barrier, checkpoints, detention facilities or military bases.1, 2, 12
The current importer store list places ASICS-specific entries in Haifa, Tel Aviv and Netanya.7 No ASICS-specific store entry on that list is identified as being in a West Bank settlement or the Golan Heights; this is a bounded store-list finding and does not establish the absence of third-party resale elsewhere, including in occupied territory.7 no public evidence identified of ASICS construction, maintenance or demolition activity in occupied territory.7, 12
Supply Chain Integration with Defence Primes
No public evidence identified of ASICS supplying components, sub-systems, raw materials or specialist manufacturing services directly to Elbit Systems, Israel Aerospace Industries, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems or IMI/Elbit Land.1, 2, 11, 12
The Seevix relationship does not establish such supply. ASICS’s 2020 primary announcement defines the collaboration as sporting-goods development, while later Seevix/Technion material describes defence only as a potential or targeted market for Seevix material.13, 15 Yaari’s adviser role establishes a personal governance link between Seevix and a former Rafael chief, but it does not establish a Seevix-Rafael supply contract or ASICS supply to Rafael.16 no public evidence identified of a named Israeli defence prime buying SVX, of ASICS funding a defence-specific SVX programme, or of ASICS participating in joint military development, co-production or technology transfer with an Israeli defence firm.13, 16, 15
Logistical Sustainment & Base Services
No public evidence identified of ASICS, Onitsuka Tiger, ASICS Trading or another disclosed controlled ASICS entity holding contracts for catering, transport, fuel, waste management, facilities maintenance, telecommunications or other sustainment services at IDF bases, detention facilities or security installations.1, 2, 8
No public evidence identified of ASICS providing shipping, freight-forwarding or port-handling services specifically for Israeli military cargo or arms shipments.1, 2 The current Israel-facing records instead document a civilian importer/retail network and an ASICS FrontRunner Israel running-community page.5, 6, 7, 19
Munitions, Weapons Systems & Strategic Platforms
No public evidence identified that ASICS is a prime contractor or licensed manufacturer of small arms, artillery, armoured vehicles, military drones, naval vessels, ammunition, explosives, missile-defence systems, combat aircraft, tanks, warships, ballistic missiles, fire-control systems, precision-guidance electronics, autonomous targeting systems or other purpose-built kinetic software.1, 2, 3 The Seevix material describes potential defence-market applications, not manufacture or supply by ASICS of a weapon, munition or strategic platform.13, 15
Controlling-principal defence-industry role. ASICS’s December 2025 notice appointed Jenifer Rogers as an outside director effective 25 March 2026 and recorded that she had served as an outside director of Kawasaki Heavy Industries since June 2018.20 Kawasaki announced on 12 May 2026 that Rogers was scheduled to retire from its board in late June 2026; its 25 June 2026 shareholder page records that all proposals at the 203rd annual meeting were approved.21, 22 The overlap was therefore confined to roughly March through late June 2026 on the public records reviewed.20, 21, 22
Kawasaki’s own aerospace profile identifies it as prime contractor for Japan MOD’s P-1 maritime patrol aircraft and C-2 transport aircraft and as a producer of other Japan MOD aircraft and helicopters.23 It also delivered the Raigei submarine to Japan MOD on 6 March 2025; Kawasaki’s release lists underwater launch tubes among the submarine’s armament.24 These establish Rogers’ contemporaneous outside-board connection to a Japanese defence manufacturer; they do not establish an Israeli nexus, an ASICS role in Kawasaki programmes, or an ASICS group relationship with Kawasaki.20, 21, 23, 24 no public evidence identified in the primary corporate material reviewed that Rogers personally directed or participated in an Israel-specific defence transaction during her 2026 ASICS tenure, and no primary Kawasaki/IAI disclosure located in the bounded search established the secondary Heron/IAI allegation as an ASICS-attributable act.20, 21, 22, 23
Export Licensing, Regulatory & Legal History
ASICS’s Global Code of Conduct requires compliance with applicable export controls, sanctions, import/export restrictions, government-procurement rules and government-contract terms.18 That general policy does not establish a defence export to Israel.18
No public evidence identified of a government decision granting, denying, suspending or revoking an export licence for ASICS products to an Israeli military/security end user; an arms-embargo or sanctions enforcement action against ASICS concerning Israel; or a court proceeding or judicial review concerning an ASICS defence-supply relationship with Israel.18, 8, 11, 12 The [pre-2020] 2015 MOD notice concerns prospective retail supply of professional running shoes through a voucher mechanism, not a disclosed arms-export licence.8
Civil Society Scrutiny & Documented Investigations
The official UN copy of A/HRC/59/23, published in 2025, addresses corporate involvement in the occupation and military/security economy; exact-name screening identified no ASICS, Onitsuka Tiger or Seevix entry.11 The OHCHR 2025 settlement-business update, A/HRC/60/19, reports reasonable grounds for listing 158 enterprises involved in one or more specified settlement-related activities; exact-name screening likewise identified no ASICS, Onitsuka Tiger or Seevix entry.12 These are bounded screening results, not proof that no unindexed or future allegation exists.11, 12
The BDS National Committee’s corporate-priority guide, published 6 December 2024, sets out current priority corporate targets; exact-name screening of the current guide identified no ASICS or Onitsuka Tiger entry.25 no public evidence identified of an institutional divestment/exclusion decision against ASICS specifically for Israeli defence-sector activity or of an ASICS policy response terminating an Israeli military/defence relationship under civil-society pressure.11, 12, 25
Constructive-notice timing. The only target-specific Israeli military procurement record identified is the [pre-2020] 2015 MOD tender, while the [pre-2020] 2018 notice and the 2020 notice do not name ASICS.8, 9, 10 The ASICS Ventures investment in Seevix dates to 2020 (older than five years); the current Ventures portfolio does not display Seevix, so continued ASICS ownership after 19 July 2024 or November 2024 could not be confirmed.17, 13 Current civilian Israel distribution is documented, but no public evidence identified that post-2024 ASICS activity in Israel constituted military procurement, defence supply or settlement-specific activity.5, 6, 7, 12
