Request: a8877fba-9990-4da6-afba-4334c97fdf3f Audit date: 8 October 2026 Target scope: Ancestry (Ancestry.com and controlled entities), with parent/investor activity identified separately where supported.

Entity resolution and authoritative-source checks

Ancestry traces its business history to Ancestry Publishing in 1983 and the launch of Ancestry.com in 1996; both are historical U.S.-company milestones rather than Israeli founding events. [pre-2020]1 Its current corporate headquarters is in Draper, Utah, and its international headquarters is Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company in Dublin.2 Current customer-facing legal information identifies Ancestry.com Operations, L.P., Ancestry.com Operations Inc., Ancestry.com DNA, LLC, Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company, Ancestry International DNA, LLC and iMemories LLC; it does not identify an Israeli Ancestry contracting entity.3

Current Ancestry materials describe a digital family-history and consumer-genomics business with more than $1 billion in revenue, 71 billion records online and more than 30 million people in its consumer DNA network.4 Its controlled/service brands page lists Ancestry, AncestryDNA, AncestryProGenealogists, AncestryAcademy, Ancestry Institution, Fold3, RootsWeb, Newspapers.com, We Remember, iMemories, Find a Grave, Archives and Forces War Records.5

Blackstone-managed private-equity funds completed the acquisition of Ancestry in December 2020 at a $4.7 billion enterprise value; the transaction announcement said GIC retained a significant minority stake.6 Ancestry’s current board biographies continue to identify Blackstone executives David Kestnbaum and Sachin Bavishi as directors associated with Blackstone’s current Ancestry investment, and Alex Moskowitz as a GIC private-equity executive.7 Blackstone’s own current biography for Kestnbaum likewise identifies Ancestry as a current Blackstone investment and Kestnbaum as an Ancestry director.8

Ancestry is distinct from two commonly conflated genealogy/DNA services. MyHeritage’s own 2024 corporate blog identifies its expanded headquarters in Or Yehuda, Israel; no reviewed source places MyHeritage in Ancestry’s corporate group.9 GEDmatch’s effective-22-November-2024 terms state that GEDmatch is operated by Verogen, Inc., a QIAGEN N.V. subsidiary, not by Ancestry.10

The full 25 September 2026 OHCHR settlement-business database update A/HRC/63/20 was checked for Ancestry and the controlled entities identified above; no Ancestry entity was identified in the reviewed database material.11 A/HRC/59/23, the 2025 Special Rapporteur report on corporate activity connected to the occupied Palestinian territory, was likewise checked and no Ancestry entity was identified in the reviewed report.12 This is an absence finding limited to those documents, not evidence that every possible commercial relationship has been disproved.

Israeli-Nexus Floor factors

Parent/group Israel nexus and constructive-notice timing

Blackstone’s relationship to Israel is independently documented and should remain attributed to Blackstone. In April 2021 Blackstone announced a new Tel Aviv office, appointed Yifat Oron to lead its growth and technology investments in Israel, and said former Israeli UN ambassador Dan Gillerman would become Chairman of Blackstone Israel.16 Blackstone’s current biography for Oron confirms that she still heads its Tel Aviv office and has been involved in Blackstone investments in Priority Software and Stampli; it also records her earlier service in the Israeli Ministry of Defense Directorate of R&D.17 On 16 May 2024 Blackstone announced an agreement for Blackstone Growth and affiliated funds to acquire a majority stake in Priority Software, which it described as having more than 500 employees across five offices in Israel, the United States and Belgium.18

The ICJ issued its advisory opinion on the occupied Palestinian territory on 19 July 2024.19 The ICC issued arrest warrants for Benjamin Netanyahu and Yoav Gallant on 21 November 2024.20 Blackstone’s current 2026 biography for Oron confirms that its Tel Aviv office and the Priority investment remain part of Blackstone’s current investment activity after both dates.17 No reviewed source establishes that Ancestry funded, used, controlled, or benefited from Priority Software or another Israeli Blackstone portfolio company; the evidence therefore establishes a parent/investor-manager nexus, not an Ancestry operating nexus.17, 18

Settlement nexus

No public evidence identified of Ancestry owning or operating an office, warehouse, data centre, retail site, supplier, reseller, property, or targeted commercial operation in a West Bank, East Jerusalem or Golan Heights settlement. Ancestry does publish Israel-related genealogy collections, including historic records linked to Jerusalem, Jaffa and Haifa, but those pages establish research content rather than a physical or corporate presence.21 The current AncestryDNA country list names 119 markets and does not include Israel.22

Supply Chain & Sourcing Relationships

Direct supplier relationships. No public evidence identified linking Ancestry to Mehadrin, Hadiklaim, Galilee Export, Agrexco successors, or another Israeli agricultural aggregator/exporter. Ancestry’s public business and brand descriptions concern genealogy, historical records, DNA testing and related digital/media services rather than grocery or agricultural retail.4, 5

Importer of record structure. No public evidence identified of a dedicated Israeli import entity or importer-of-record structure for goods originating in Israel or the occupied territories. Current customer-facing corporate information assigns U.S. products to U.S. entities and non-U.S. Ancestry/DNA relationships principally to Irish/international entities, with no Israel-specific importer shown.3

Seasonal sourcing patterns. No public evidence identified of recurring seasonal procurement from Israeli suppliers, including produce or agricultural products. The reviewed sources do not describe Ancestry as a retailer of such goods.5

Third-party and indirect sourcing. No public evidence identified that Israeli-origin agricultural or consumer goods reach Ancestry customers through distributors, white-label arrangements or resellers. AncestryDNA is a physical test kit, but Israel is absent from the current list of 119 countries where AncestryDNA is officially available.22

Product Origin, Labeling & Regulatory Compliance

Settlement-origin products. No public evidence identified of Ancestry selling a physical product reported by a regulator, NGO or customs authority as originating in an Israeli settlement. The full OHCHR 2026 settlement-business update did not yield an Ancestry entity in the reviewed material.11

Labeling compliance. No public evidence identified of a DEFRA, customs, trading-standards or equivalent enforcement action against Ancestry concerning the country-of-origin labeling of Israeli or settlement-produced goods. Ancestry’s current service portfolio is principally digital genealogy/genomics and related media-preservation services.5

Corporate labeling policy. No public evidence identified of an Ancestry policy specifically governing sourcing or country-of-origin labeling for goods from Israel, the West Bank, East Jerusalem or the Golan Heights. No reviewed evidence showed a settlement-origin product line that would make such a policy operative.5, 11

Investment, Capital & Financial Exposure

Foreign direct investment by Ancestry. No public evidence identified of an Ancestry acquisition, factory, data centre, logistics hub, real-estate holding or other direct capital investment in Israel or the occupied territories. Its publicly announced 2021 Geneanet transaction concerned a French company and its 2025 iMemories acquisition concerned a company headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona.13, 14 The current customer-facing Ancestry corporate structure lists no Israeli entity.3

R&D and innovation centres. No public evidence identified of an Ancestry-operated R&D centre, accelerator or innovation lab in Israel. The current careers page says Ancestry has more than 1,600 employees and offices across eight global locations; the locations presented by Ancestry do not identify Israel.23

Cloud, data and hosting relationship. AWS announced in June 2017 that Ancestry would migrate all applications and data to AWS. [pre-2020]24 Current AWS genomics material continues to identify Ancestry as an Amazon EFS customer for genomics research, confirming an ongoing AWS relationship.25 No reviewed Ancestry or AWS source identifies which AWS region or regions host Ancestry customer or genetic data, so no public evidence identified ties Ancestry’s hosting to an Israeli AWS region.24, 25

Parent and beneficial ownership flows. Blackstone-managed funds acquired Ancestry in 2020, while GIC retained a significant minority interest at closing.6 Blackstone separately maintains a Tel Aviv investment office and has made Israeli technology investments, including the documented Priority Software transaction.16, 17, 18 No source reviewed traces Ancestry revenue, profit, customer data or operating capital into those Blackstone Israel investments; the parent-level relationship remains indirect.6, 17

Portfolio and fund exposure held by Ancestry. No public evidence identified that Ancestry itself holds Israeli-domiciled equities, Israeli sovereign bonds, Israel-focused funds, or portfolio stakes in OHCHR-listed settlement companies. Ancestry is presented publicly as an operating genealogy/genomics company rather than an asset manager or financial institution.4, 5

Financing the State. No public evidence identified that Ancestry underwrites or arranges Israeli sovereign debt, sells Israel Bonds, provides insurance for Israeli state/military/settlement activity, or provides direct lending or trade finance to Israeli defence primes or OHCHR-listed companies. Its documented business model is outside the financial sector.4, 5

Controlling principals. Howard Hochhauser has been Ancestry’s President and CEO since February 2025; Ancestry’s current board includes Blackstone-linked directors and a GIC executive.7 no public evidence identified in the reviewed sources of personal or family-office investments by Hochhauser, Ancestry chairman Mark Thompson, or the named Ancestry directors into Israeli companies that can be treated as an Ancestry corporate act. Blackstone’s own institutional Israeli investments are separately documented above.7, 17, 18

Privacy and law-enforcement access. Ancestry’s privacy statement effective 12 May 2026 says it does not voluntarily provide user data to law enforcement and requires valid legal process; it also identifies Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company as the controller for non-U.S. users.26 Its law-enforcement guide, effective 12 November 2019, states that user account data can only be accessed by Ancestry.com Operations Inc. in the United States and Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company in Ireland, and that international authorities may require an MLAT request or letter rogatory. [pre-2020] The same guide says DNA data is released only pursuant to a valid search warrant with proper jurisdiction.27 Current policy statements corroborate the continuing restrictions.26, 28

For calendar year 2025, Ancestry reported zero valid requests for DNA data, nine valid U.S. law-enforcement requests for non-DNA data with data produced in seven, and no valid requests from outside the United States.29 no public evidence identified in that report of an Israeli law-enforcement request or disclosure during 2025.29

Operational Presence & Market Activity

Physical footprint. No public evidence identified of an Ancestry office, sales centre, support centre, warehouse or Ancestry-owned retail location in Israel or the occupied territories. Current corporate contact information places headquarters in Utah and the international headquarters in Dublin, while the current careers footprint does not identify Israel.2, 23

Employment and tax contribution. No public evidence identified of an Ancestry workforce count in Israel, Israeli payroll entity, Israeli tax registration, tax-residency status or Preferred Technology Enterprise status. The current public contracting structure does not identify an Israeli Ancestry entity.3

DNA-market availability. As of 8 October 2026, Ancestry’s help centre says AncestryDNA is available in 119 countries; the published list does not include Israel.22 This is evidence about official AncestryDNA availability, not proof that every other Ancestry web service is inaccessible from Israel.

Market positioning. No public evidence identified of Ancestry characterising Israel as a strategic growth market, regional hub, major sales market or material revenue geography. The company does maintain genealogy content concerning Israel, including historic immigration, consular and Jewish-history collections.21 Those record collections should not be conflated with an Israeli operating subsidiary or market hub.21

Settlement market activity. No public evidence identified of settlement-specific sales, listings, sourcing, distribution, licensees, franchisees or revenue. The current DNA availability list does not include Israel, and no Ancestry office in Israel or the occupied territories was identified in current public corporate materials.2, 23, 22

Corporate Structure & Foundational Ties

Founding and incorporation history. Ancestry’s own timeline records Ancestry Publishing’s founding in 1983 and Ancestry.com’s launch in 1996. [pre-2020]1 no public evidence identified that Ancestry was founded or originally incorporated in Israel.1

Headquarters and domicile. Current corporate headquarters are at 42 Future Way, Suite 400, Draper, Utah; the international headquarters is Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company in Dublin.2 Current product/legal relationships are allocated among U.S. entities and Ancestry Ireland Unlimited Company/Ancestry International DNA, LLC for non-U.S. services, with no Israel-specific Ancestry legal entity identified.3

Acquired identity. No public evidence identified of an acquired Israeli operating company. Geneanet was described by Ancestry in 2021 as a French genealogy company that would operate as an independent business in Ancestry’s portfolio; the acquisition price was not disclosed.13 Ancestry acquired iMemories in July 2025; Ancestry described iMemories as headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and did not disclose transaction terms.14 Neither announcement establishes Israeli manufacturing, Israeli employees, an IDF/defence relationship or a settlement nexus.13, 14

State and institutional linkages. No public evidence identified of Israeli state ownership in Ancestry, an Israeli government-appointed Ancestry director, an Israeli government contract with Ancestry, or designation of Ancestry as Israeli critical national infrastructure. Blackstone’s Yifat Oron previously served in the Israeli Ministry of Defense, but that biographical fact concerns a Blackstone executive and does not establish an Ancestry government relationship.17

Structural governance features. No public evidence identified of a golden share, founder share, charter restriction or other governance mechanism tying Ancestry to the Israeli state or Israeli policy objectives. Current governance materials instead show a private-company board including management, Blackstone-linked directors, a GIC executive and independent/business directors.7

Historical subsidiary check. A 2015 SEC exhibit for Ancestry.com LLC and subsidiaries listed numerous controlled entities but no Israeli subsidiary. [pre-2020]15 Because Ancestry has since changed ownership and made acquisitions, that exhibit is historical only; current structure is better represented by Ancestry’s present legal-information page.3

Profit Repatriation & Economic Contribution

Revenue attribution. Ancestry’s current company-facts page reports more than $1 billion in revenue, while its current CEO biography says the business grew to more than $1.3 billion in revenue in 2024.4, 7 no public evidence identified of revenue specifically attributed to Israel or to settlements.4, 7

Profit flows. No public evidence identified showing profits generated in Israel flowing to Ancestry, or Ancestry’s global profits being repatriated to an Israeli-domiciled owner. The documented ownership relationship is Blackstone-managed funds with GIC retaining a significant minority at the 2020 acquisition.6 Blackstone’s separate Israeli investment activity is documented, but no reviewed source traces Ancestry profits into a specific Israeli investment.16, 17, 18

Economic ecosystem role. No public evidence identified of an Israeli government, regulator or industry body characterising Ancestry as a key Israeli employer, sector anchor, infrastructure provider or nationally significant technology company. By contrast, Ancestry’s own public materials place its headquarters in Utah, its international headquarters in Ireland, and its current official DNA-market list outside Israel.2, 22

Constructive-notice timing. No direct Ancestry Israel/settlement investment or operation was identified for testing as an activity that continued after 19 July 2024 or 21 November 2024.19, 20 At parent level, Blackstone’s Tel Aviv investment platform and its Priority Software investment are confirmed in current Blackstone material after both dates, but no public evidence identified converts those parent-level activities into Ancestry operations or establishes Ancestry funding of them.17, 18

Supplementary economic sourcing and control findings

Ancestry’s own composite cookie table lists Taboola’s third-party attribution/recommendation cookie and Klear’s campaign-conversion cookie, while its policy describes third-party cookies as providing functions such as analytics and advertising.30, 31 Listed cookies may differ across sites and regions; neither listing discloses a current paid contract, exact contracting entity, invoice or fee.30

Taboola’s Ancestry/Performics UK video-advertising case study documents a concrete campaign delivered through Taboola and work with its Creative Shop.32 Taboola’s October2020 Creative Shop announcement refers to Ancestry results through Performics; its August2021 EMEA announcement includes a Performics/Ancestry testimonial. These establish repeated historical commercial advertising activity, without proving that the same campaign or an uninterrupted media-buying contract continues in2026.33, 34 No Ancestry-specific spend, payment route or supplier share of its marketing budget was publicly identified in these sources.32, 33, 34

Taboola’s2026Q2 filing identifies its current Israeli incorporation; its2025 annual filing identifies Tel Aviv R&D and infrastructure that includes Israel. These are supplier-level economic facts, not a measurement of Ancestry payments reaching Israel or evidence of an Ancestry Israeli office.35, 36 Meltwater’s current affiliate list identifies Klear.com Ltd. in Israel, and its2024 integration notice describes Klear continuing within Meltwater.37, 38 The exact entity behind Ancestry’s Klear-labelled cookie and any current paid subscription remain unresolved.30, 37

Blackstone-managed funds’ acquisition and Blackstone directors on Ancestry’s board establish a documented control/governance relationship.6, 7, 8 The earlier absence of a traced Ancestry-to-Priority payment describes a specific evidence gap; reviewed disclosures do not establish complete capital independence or reveal all distributions between Ancestry, its owning funds and their manager.6, 8, 17, 18 Separate entity labels do not resolve those undisclosed flows. The current settlement database screen remains limited to its specified activities and assessed enterprises.11
